“My passion for watchmaking was born the day I discovered that a watch could be far more than an instrument: it could hold memories, emotions and character. Ever since, I have been guided by curiosity and the desire to understand every detail, every mechanism, every story hidden behind a dial.

That discovery, back in 1994, was the beginning of a journey of learning, encounters and experiences that in time led me to found IndieWatch. A brand that gathers that legacy, the strength of a community of enthusiasts and the will to look at watchmaking from another angle: with independence, authenticity and roots in Spain, yet a global calling.

The master watchmaker

In this interview, Jesús Carro (Product Manager at IndieWatch) speaks with Master Watchmaker Manuel Díaz, who reflects on his more than 30 years of experience, his enthusiasm and passion, and on the craftsmanship and technical rigour behind every timepiece.

Manuel explains how he oversees the assembly, regulation and quality control at the IndieWatch workshop in Nerja, ensuring impeccable precision and finishing of the highest order.

A brand with roots and a global outlook

Spain has not historically been a land of great watch manufactures, yet it is a land of crafts, of artisans and of a distinctly Mediterranean way of understanding time: with passion, rhythm and authenticity. IndieWatch draws upon that cultural root and projects it outward.

We manufacture with rigour, select noble materials, work with specialist partners and carry out assembly and quality control in our workshops in Spain, preserving the creative freedom that inspires us.

Mission and values

Our commitment is twofold: on the one hand, to offer timepieces with character, in dialogue with the history of design yet speaking a contemporary language; on the other, to always safeguard the creative freedom that drives us. We do not wish to be just another brand in the display cabinet: we want those who wear an Indie to feel they carry upon the wrist a fragment of history and identity.

Yet beyond technique, we seek to stir emotion. A glance at the wrist that recalls a classic car roaring through a bend, a journey, a personal moment worthy of being etched in memory.
