
The neighbourhood
before the legend
Long before half the world knew it as Malasaña, the neighbourhood was called Maravillas. In the late seventies, between the Plaza del Dos de Mayo and the Calle de la Palma, its bars began to fill with people who did not yet know what they were about to found. The Maravillas carries the grey of the façades at seven in the evening and, within the small seconds, the sky blue of a heaven already heralding the night
