THE DIAL

A black that holds everything

Absolute black lacquer, without a single glint of colour, with the 12, 03 and 09 in polished silver, applied and cropped at the edge of the dial. At its centre, a small white seconds subdial, snailed with the finest of grooves, turns like a record

The club
on Padre Xifré

Between 1981 and 1985, on calle Padre Xifré in the Prosperidad district, Rock-Ola was in full swing — one of the clubs that defined Madrid’s nightlife. Bands from home and abroad took to its stage, and for four years its dance floor was the place to be. A few streets away, in a flat on calle Zabaleta, an independent record label was born in 1982. The Prosperidad is absolute black, like a club at midnight, with a small white seconds subdial that turns like a record
