Plaza del Dos de Mayo, Calle de la Palma, Calle Velarde. In a handful of Malasaña’s blocks, the late seventies saw the opening of the bars where Madrid’s nights learned to be free: dance floors where no one asked for explanations, and houses where painting, music and celebration were one and the same. The Malasaña wears the lavender of the dance floor at two in the morning and, on the seconds markers, the taupe of the Rastro, where the night comes to an end
